Texas Baptist Men is assessing damage today and deciding how to best help North Texans in the wake of yesterday’s flooding.

“Assessors are going out to meet with homeowners,” says David Wells, TBM Director of Disaster Relief. “Right now we’re in the beginning stages of setting up our network to take care of whatever requests we receive.”

Wells says some flood damage is minor enough that homeowners will likely be able to take care of it on their own. But some repairs will be a much larger undertaking.

“Some of the homes that are near creeks and mud and debris, those are the ones that we’re finding we’re going to need to help a little more,” Wells says.

TBM has set up a special website for DFW homeowners to request assistance.

The ministry’s mission is to bring help, hope and healing to those who need it most. Teams are already deployed in both Kentucky and Missouri to help with flood relief there.
