A Texas DPS trooper had to go to the hospital after they were exposed to fentanyl.
DPS says the trooper got sick while searching a car in Bexar County. EMS gave the trooper NARCAN before taking them to the hospital. Special Agents later found the substance in a container and said it tested positive for fentanyl.
DPS says oftentimes officers and first responders come in contact with a mixture of illicit drugs while on the job. According to the Centers For Disease Control the mixtures can include cocaine, methamphetamines, cannabinoids, cathinones, and opioids such as fentanyl and heroin, and exposure can be harmful.
