The Texas Department of Criminal Justice has carried out the death sentence for 41-year-old Kosoul Chanthakoummane. He was convicted of capital murder in the death of 40-year-old Sarah Walker in 2006.

Walker's body was found inside a model home in McKinney she had been showing. DNA evidence placed Chanthakoummane at the scene, although his defense lawyers challenged the validity of that evidence. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals rejected a request to delay his execution, which was carried out Wednesday night.

"In his final statement, Chanthakoummane thanked his supporters and prayed that his death would bring peace to the Walker family," said Robert Hurst with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. "He did not apologize for her murder."

The execution was the second one carried about the State of Texas this year.
