Tjhe Texas Longhorns started out March Madness as one of seven Texas teams in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, and now only two are left to reach the Sweet 16.
Four Texas teams were still alive after the tournament's first round on Thursday and Friday. But only half of them are moving on.
Midwest Regional #1 seed Houston beat Auburn 81-64 to advance to play Miami in the Midwest's first semi-final game, the first game to be played Friday night.
And the Longhorns also emerged from the weekend unscathed, downing Penn State 71-66, and they will take on Xavier in the other midwest semi, the second game Friday night.
But it's wait 'til next year for both Baylor and TCU. Creighton knocked out the Bears 85-76 Sunday evening and then, in the last game of the weekend , Gonzage eliminated the Horned Frogs 84-81.
