(Brazoria, TX) -- A Texas prison escapee is back behind bars -- after less than 24 hours on the run.
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice reported that child sex abuser Robert Yancy was noticed missing Sunday afternoon from the Clemens unit in Brazoria. The search continued through the night and early Monday morning Yancy was re-captured about 35 miles away in Matagorda.
Two others were arrested in Victoria -- suspected of helping Yancy make his break for it. One of them is identified as his mother. Yancy is doing life without parole for his conviction on a charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child out of Victoria County.
