Making their Major League Cricket debut in Grand Prairie Thursday night the Texas Super Kings beat the Los Angeles Knight Riders by 69 runs, 181-to-112.
The Super Kings will play their home matches in Grand Prairie Stadium, the former home of the Airhogs baseball team. It has now been reconfigured into a cricket pitch and seats about 7,000 fans.
Thursday night was a sell-out as almost everyone wore yellow, the Super Kings color, or waved a yellow flag. Or both.
For this inaugural season, MLC is a six-team tournament with games scheduled from now through the end of July.
Grand Prairie Stadium hosts the first eight games before play shifts to Morrisville, North Carolina for seven more.
Then it's back to Grand Prairie for the playoffs.
