When people across the country have turkey on Thanksgiving, there's a good chance they bought it from a Texas company.

Greenberg Smoked Turkey in Tyler has been shipping turkeys for decades and its owner Sam Greenberg says November is their time to shine.

"The center of that holiday table at Thanksgiving is pretty much our real estate," Greenberg says.

He expects to sell between 110,000 and 115,000 smoked turkeys for Thanksgiving this year, and nearly that many at Christmas. He says prices are down slightly for the consumer and sales this year are up.

"We're selling more now for Thanksgiving than we do for Christmas," Greenberg says. "Four years ago, it was just the opposite. So, you know, it's a changing world and, and this is one of the things that have changed.
