A partial derailment of a freight train forced Trinity Metro to suspend TEXRail service between two stations Thursday morning. Trinity Metro says the freight train derailed on tracks adjacent to theirs.
As a result, three trains were cancelled Thursday morning. Trinity Metro says all trains headed west from DFW Airport to Downtown Fort Worth are now stopping at North Side Station. Eastbound trains from Fort Worth to the airport are starting at North Side.
Buses are shuttling passengers among North Side Station, Fort Worth Central and TEXRail’s western terminus at T&P Station.
Trinity Metro says the shift to bus service should not lead to "significant" delays.
Later Thursday morning, Trinity Metro said crews had made progress clearing the tracks. TEXRail service westbound from North Side into Downtown Fort Worth will resume at 10:20 a.m.; eastbound service from T&P Station will resume with the 10:43 train.
