The girlfriend of a Dallas man who murdered a co-worker is also going to prison even though she did not pull the trigger.
Reports say 28-year-old Shatoria Jefferson drove Brayshun Jones to the home of a co-worker and was there when the robbery and murder went down. Jones then drove away. This happened in January 2019 in the driveway of Raul Garcia-Torres in Mesquite.
As police were investigating the shooting Garcia-Torres' phone began flashing fraud alerts. Jones and Jefferson were on a spending spree using his credit cards at an Oak Cliff footlocker, a gas station, and a restaurant. Both were arrested.
Jefferson pleaded guilty Tuesday. A jury decided the punishment and settled on 50 years in prison, the same sentence Jones received when he pleaded guilty to a murder charge.
