The Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks are both on the road this week and weekend to accommodate the NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four to be played Friday and Sunday at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
The Stars were the last ones to use the arena over the weekend, giving AAC time to make the complete transformation from ice to hardwood in time for the four teams to have time to get into the arena for their pre-game tune-ups this week.
The Final Four was set Monday night when the Virginia Tech women beat third-seeded Ohio State 84-74 to reach the school's first-ever Final Four.
The Hokies will play LSU in the first semi-final game Friday night in Dallas. South Carolina meets Iowa in the second game. The winners will meet in Sunday's Championship game which tips off at 2:30 p.m. Dallas time.
The Stars return to AAC to play Nashville next Monday, so the crews will have to hurry up and reverse the process, going from hardwood back to ice, late Sunday after the basketball final.
