It has been quite some time since E-Scooters were seen on the streets of DFW. After residents fought to have them removed back in 2020, the city announced this summer the scooters would return in October with new guidelines. Luckily for those that were disappointed by this decision, it was recently announced that the return of E-Scooters will now be delayed until next year.

When E-Scooters eventually do return to the streets of North Texas, it will be a bit different than the last time. New guidelines have been put in place to limit the number of scoot vendors available, and to lower speeds in certain areas. However, these changes have caused a delay that will prevent the new scooters from being ready until 2023.

“While staff turnover and the internal review process has put the relaunch slightly behind schedule, the Call for Applications is expected to open in the coming weeks with operators selected shortly thereafter,” said Dallas spokesperson Page Jones.

According to Dallas Observer, no official launch date has been announced at this time. For those that actually want the scooters to return, it may be some time until that happens.
