There's an apartment complex in Cedar Hill where 700 residents are without water after pipes burst. Rand Jenkins with the Texas Baptist Men says people have electricity there. So, they're bringing a shower-laundry unit.
Jenkins says, "These units are self -contained trailers. They have anywhere from four to six shower units in there.
They also have laundry units with washers and dryers." Volunteers with the Texas Baptist Men do the laundry.
Jenkins says the city of Cedar Hill has asked the Texas Baptist Men for a generator to help others in the city.
Jenkins says, "We are trying to respond all over the state of Texas. It is a massive deployment that we and others are really working to try to bring help, hope and healing to people in Texas."
The Texas Baptist men say a large generator and an electronic support unit has already been deployed to the Edgewood in East Texas. They also shower/laundry units on stanby to serve in Allen and Corpus Christi. The remaining 15 shower units have all been placed on alert to serve within four hours if called up.
