Police in North Richland Hills have arrested one person in connection with an assault that injured a child with non-verbal autism last month, but it's not the person they believe was directly responsible for the attack.
Police announced earlier this week that the parents of a 7-year-old child who was being treated at the ABA Interactive Therapy Center in North Richland Hills found a large scratch on the child's face. Police reviewed security camera footage and determined that a staffer at the clinic was responsible for the incident.
They have an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Ashley Moreno on a charge of Injury to a Child. CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to her arrest. They're asking anyone with information about her location to call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 817-469-TIPS(8477).
The person arrested this week is the owner of the therapy center, 34-year-old Kiara Henry of North Richland Hills. Police say she knew about the incident but did not report it as required by state law. She was arrested on a charge of Failure to Report, which is a state jail felony.
