2021 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship

Art Heist - A True Crime Walking Theater Experience

"For a Dreamer of Houses" at Dallas Museum of Art

"For a Dreamer of Houses'' brings together more than 50 works from the DMA's collection that range from immersive installations to intimate photographs, all related to the idea of home. The exhibition's sections correspond to five chapters in philosopher Gaston Bachelard's influential 1958 book "The Poetics of Space." Major recent acquisitions - including works by Alex Da Corte, Olivia Erlanger, EJ Hill, Francisco Moreno, Pipilotti Rist, and Do Ho Suh - are highlighted in each section. Because of COVID precautions, you must have a timed free ticket. There is a small extra charge for the collection.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden

The Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT) and Fort Worth Botanic Garden invite visitors to see their newest exhibit "Topiaries in the Garden," running through June 30, 2021. Featuring 12 plant-based animal shapes, such as elephants, giraffes, and butterflies, the displays are sure to stimulate a sense of wonderment and fascination.

Plano-McKinney Music & Arts Festivals

You'll find major concerts, fine art displays, a classic car show, a custom motorcycle show, and dozens of fun attractions and highlights. Check out the Taste of Texas Food Garden, with delicious cuisine, and cold domestic and craft beers. National recording artists will be performing throughout the afternoon and evening on the main stage, as well as juried visual artists presenting the heritage and the culture of Plano and McKinney. On Sunday night at 7, Texas Hill - featuring Craig Wayne Boyd (Winner of NBC's "The Voice"), Casey James (American Idol Finalist), and Adam Wakefield (Runner-up on NBC's "The Voice") from Dallas, TX will be playing.

The Stockyards Championship Rodeo

Grab your boots and Cowboy hat! This rodeo is back! The live and kicking rodeo is every Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. (Friday...it's "Free Kid Friday"...buy an adult ticket and get a kid's ticket free!) It's in the Cowtown Coliseum. Rodeo organizers say you can feel safe as you watch the live rodeo action because they are enforcing social distancing and everyone has to wear a facial covering. Giddy up!

Tiny Dog Pageant

Well, this is fun! The 2nd Annual Tiny Dog Pageant at Denton County Brewing Company. Bring your tiny (or not so tiny) dog, dress 'em up, and strut that adorable pup on the stage. You can sign up until 1:45 p.m. the day of the event. The pageant starts at 2. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
