The Nasher Sculpture Center and the George W. Bush Presidential Center in partnership with Emerson Collective, PHI Studio, and Legendary Entertainment present the immersive VR experience recounting the harrowing journey of Central American and Mexican refugees. CARNE y ARENA is presented for the first time in Texas, the state that shares the longest border with Mexico—over 1200 miles—and a crossing point for many refugees. The installation opens in Fair Park after numerous sold-out runs in the U.S. and abroad.

Bush Presidential Center will host "The Continual Struggle: The American Freedom Movement and the Seeds of Social Change" by artist Brian Washington from Jan. 17 to March 27, 2022, in Freedom Hall at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum. The exhibit is made possible by the generous support of our presenting sponsor, The Boeing Company.
"The Continual Struggle: The American Freedom Movement and the Seeds of Social Change," a collection that was 13 years in the making, documents all phases of the civil rights movement, a pivotal time in America's ongoing fight to eliminate segregation and other forms of race-based disenfranchisement. The 25-piece exhibit uses visual art as a way of educating, storytelling, powerfully recalling an era of protests against injustice and inequality.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration
The Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum presents a virtual program - the International Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration on Sunday. Marking the liberation of Auschwitz, International Holocaust Remembrance Day allows us to reflect upon the profound tragedy of the Holocaust. We also come together to share a moment of peace and hope for the future.
Speakers include:
Julie Meetal Berman, an artist and the daughter of Holocaust Survivors Magda and Les Mittelman, Z"L. Magda and Les were born in Hungary in 1923 and 1919, respectively. During the war, Les was conscripted into forced labor for the Hungarian army on the Eastern Front, but ultimately escaped and joined a resistance group. Magda and her family were confined to a ghetto before being sent to Auschwitz. She was ultimately liberated in Germany.
Mark Jacobs is an attorney and the son of Holocaust Survivor Mike Jacobs, Z"L. Mike was born in Poland in 1925. In 1939, he and his family were confined in the Ostrowiec ghetto. Most of his family, including his parents, two brothers, and two sisters, were ultimately murdered at Treblinka death camp. Mike survived several camps, including Auschwitz, before being liberated from Mathausen-Gusen II by the U.S. Army in 1945.

The Modern Lights
The Modern trees are illuminated with an array of festive lights in celebration of the holiday season.
