A federal judge has sentenced a former Keller School District teacher and coach to nearly 11-years in prison for stalking a student.
Rick Badley, 45, admitted that he stalked a 16-year-old student, calling her his “new favorite” and “little girl” and circulating false and vulgar messages about her to her family and friends, according to federal prosecutors.
Badley was a teacher and track coach at the school. He was indicted last year after months of harassing the girl’s family.
Badley also admitted he sent the victim’s parents an anonymous letter demanding she produce two TikTock videos with sexual undertones. The letter threatened to release false and disparaging information about the victim if the videos were not posted by a certain time, prosecutors said.
Court documents say the FBI seized a laptop that had child pornography downloaded.
