North Texas could soon hit the 100 degree mark and energy experts have some tips to try to save you as much as possible when it comes to electricity bills.
Reliant has a number of things that can be helpful including what they call their "4-by-4" rule.
If no one is going to be home for more than four hours, set the temperature four degrees higher while you're out.
On top of that, adjust that thermostat 2 to 3 degree higher during the hottest part of the day between 2:00pm and 9:00pm.
Don't use large appliances during the hottest part of the day and do what you can to block direct sunlight from coming through the windows.
