Trader Joe’s fans can hunt for the retailer’s newest limited-edition bags starting Wednesday, May 20, as the Summer Fun Mini Insulated Totes arrive in stores across the country for $3.99 each. The colorful collection continues the grocery chain’s tradition of viral, collectible totes that often sell out quickly.
The mini insulated totes measure 10-by-6-by-6 inches and hold 1.5 gallons. Each features a zipper top and two reinforced handles, making them ideal for keeping snacks, drinks or small groceries cool during beach trips, picnics or everyday errands. There are six designs: two striped patterns and four with a fun Trader Joe’s store silhouette paired with palm trees in bright summer colors including teal, magenta, lime green, turquoise, orange and lavender.
The release builds on the massive popularity of Trader Joe’s previous mini totes. In 2024, the original canvas versions sparked international demand, with some reselling for hundreds or even thousands of dollars online, particularly in countries without Trader Joe’s stores. The new insulated models are expected to generate similar excitement and rapid sell-outs.
Trader Joe’s has encouraged shoppers to check local stores early, noting that supplies are limited and availability may vary by location. The bags are available in-store only and are part of the company’s ongoing series of seasonal, themed totes.
