A stretch of I-30 near the Dallas-Grand Prairie line remains partially closed as of 6 a.m. due to an 18-wheeler fire overnight.
Three lanes of west-bound 30 were closed just past Loop 12 when a big rig fire broke out. That's a fairly undeveloped stretch, so no fire hydrants were handy, meaning fire trucks had to shuttle in water to fight the flames.
The fire broke out just past 1 a.m. but investigators have not discovered the cause. The driver was not hurt.
Repots say the truck was hauling a load of frozen chicken which seemed to be pretty much a total loss.
