Carroll High School and Carroll Senior High School in Southlake are closed Wednesday, following an anonymous threat.
The Carroll ISD says the threat was reported through the STOPit System last night.
Southlake police will be conducting a comprehensive investigation into the potential threat, which was specifically directed at Carroll High School. However, both campuses are closed due to the interlinked class schedules of students at both schools. The school district has chosen to close both schools out of an abundance of caution.
Southlake police released a statement about their investigation:
"Last night, Southlake Police received an anonymous report about a potential threat at Carroll High School through the School District's alert system. The report involved a message that was written on a bathroom stall door by someone referring to the STARR test and a potential school shooting on May Ist. No specific target was identified and no additional details were provided in the message The police department's investigation into the incident is ongoing We will provide additional information to the community as it is available."
While these two campuses remain closed, all other schools in the Carroll Independent School District (CISD) are operating normally.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the threat to contact the Southlake Police Department immediately.
