Two children found dead along Brazos River in Johnson County

Authorities in Johnson County are investigating after two young boys were found dead Tuesday evening along the Brazos River, just south of Tarrant County.

Deputies were called to the Hamm Creek Park area around 6:10 p.m., where they located the children’s bodies near the water.

The victims have been identified as brothers, ages 5 and 7. Emergency crews pronounced both dead at the scene. Investigators say there is no immediate sign of foul play, but the cause and circumstances surrounding their deaths remain under investigation.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with assistance from state authorities. Officials have not released the children’s names or additional details about how they ended up in the river.
