Two people have died in a head-on crash in Kaufman County.
Last night, just after 8:30 p.m. police, fire and paramedics converged on the crash site on State Highway 243 about mid-way between Kaufman and Canton. They found a catastrophic scene.
State troopers explain that an SUV crossed into on-coming traffic and slammed head-on into a car, killing both drivers on impact.
There were no other occupants in the vehicles. Investigators have no idea why the driver of the SUV veered across the center line.
The names of the deceased have not been released pending family notification.
