Two men are behind bars in Johnson County in connection with a murder from earlier this month. They have both been charged with first-degree murder.
Police say the body of 22-year-old Tyler Waldrop was discovered on the morning of March 4th at his residence on County Road 904. A friend had showed up to check on Waldrop after didn't show up for work. Deputies who responded to the scene determined that Waldrop had been stabbed several times.
Investigators initially determined the 22-year-old Tommy Joe Krumm Gann of Burleson was a person of interest in the case. Additional evidence led them to arrest him on an outstanding warrant on March 10th. They say he eventually confessed to the crime and named 22-year-old Mark Allen Groom of Joshua as his accomplice. Investigators say the two men had tried to steal Waldrop's pickup truck and murdered him when the crime did not go as planned
Both suspects are being held at the Johnson County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder. Bond for both of them has been set at $1,000,000.
