Forest Hill Police have identified two suspects in a shooting at a car wash Monday. The shooting killed a local rapper and his 5-year-old daughter.

"It was a shocking event for North Texas," Forest Hills Police Chief David Hernandez said. "We lost two victims to this tragedy."

Police confirmed Ronnie Smith, who performed under the stage name G$ Lil Ronnie, and his daughter, R'Mani were the victims.

"Based on the music industry he's a part of, it is all part of the investigation," Hernandez said. "Everything we're putting out is being reviewed and analyzed by the Texas Rangers."

Texas Rangers are now leading the investigation. Hernandez said Forest Hill police had not identified a motive.

They have identified two suspects: Adonis Robinson and Jakobie Russell. Hernandez said Robinson is a registered sex offender. He described Russell as "on the run."

"They're scared. They're cowards. They're hiding," he said.

Neither had been arrested as of Wednesday afternoon.

He urges people who might know where the two are to contact Crimestoppers at (817) 469-TIPS [8477] or https://469tips.com/.
