Texas Woman’s University has been officially designated a "Research 2" institution for the 2025 Carnegie Classifications, the American Council on Education announced.
The designation recognizes universities with high research activity, significant research spending, and robust doctoral degree production. TWU now joins an exclusive group of just 139 institutions nationwide to earn the distinction.
Chancellor Carine Feyten called the recognition a win for both students and faculty, noting it will enhance teaching, innovation, and the university’s overall reputation.
The designation marks a significant milestone for TWU as it continues to grow its research footprint.
