TXDOT trucks are out on the roadways preparing the North Texas highways for upcoming winter storm that is taking aim at several parts of the country including North and Central Texas.
Kenna Mitchell with the Texas Department of Transportation says they have a fleet of trucks that can be used in a variety of ways.
"We have trucks, about 100 trucks, that we can put different pieces of equipment on to help us be ready for whatever the weather is going to bring," Mitchell said. "We can attach plow blades, we can put brine tanks on."
She says if you see their crews out treating the roadways or removing snow and ice, please give them plenty of space to operate.
TXDOT is also calling on drivers everywhere to stay off the roadways as much as possible and if you must drive, be extremely careful and give the road your full attention.
