Uber driver attacked, ends up in hospital in Dallas

DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- As rideshare gets more popular, you might be using it more, but a driver in Dallas wound up in the hospital overnight after he was attacked on the job.

A rideshare driver was shot while trying to pick someone up Tuesday morning in Dallas. Police say the driver was called for a fare in Oak Cliff about 1:45 a.m.

Police say the driver arrived at the location on Pentagon Parkway, a few blocks west of Highway 67. They say several people walked up to the car, and one person pointed a gun at the driver and demanded property.

Police say the victim tried to drive off, but someone fired and hit him. The victim was stable when he was taken to the hospital.

Tuesday morning, Dallas Police had not announced any arrests.
