Suspect arrested following hammer attack on Plano jogger

A teenage boy has been charged in the hammer attack of a woman jogging in a Plano park, authorities said.

Plano police responded around 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, to the 2300 block of Shiloh Road after the woman was struck by an unknown male in Bob Woodruff Park. She was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Plano Fire-Rescue said.

The suspect, 17-year-old Sergio Noe De Nova Duarte of Plano, was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping causing bodily injury, a first-degree felony. He is being held at the Collin County Detention Facility.

Police said there are no ongoing public safety concerns.
