Park Rangers at Dinosaur Valley State Park in Somervell County have named a venomous copperhead snake "Red Hot Cheeto" because of its spicy attitude.

Rangers encountered and photographed the broad-banded copperhead that was found the park's Main Track Site, a high-traffic area with a lot of people coming and going.

Rangers gathered the snake and relocated it to a more remote area. Rangers point out that all the park's creatures, including snakes, are protected so they warn the best path is to simply leave them alone and let the experts deal with them.

The copperhead's venom can be lethal but it rarely is if the victim gets prompt treatment.
