Voters reject proposal for major improvements to McKinney National Airport

Voters in McKinney rejected a proposal to make some major improvements at the city's airport.

The McKinney National Airport is used primarily for general aviation, planes owned by private individuals or corporate jets.

There was a $200 millionr bond package on the ballot in McKinney to fund new construction at the airport to set up a commercial passenger terminal with the goal of attracting regular commercial airline service.

It failed at the ballot box with a reported 58% of voters being opposed to the bond package.
