DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The Dallas city council has voted 11-3, to end its contract with the county, after problems during election day.
Mayor Eric Johnson and others on the council were not satisfied with election officials excuse, of under staffing and a new system. They say the combo lead to polling places being opened late (up to 4 hours in some cases) and overall confusion during the election.
Councilwoman Cara Mendolsohn says what happened on election day was inexcusable, while Mayor Eric Johnson says elections believes the county should pay for any costs incurred during this month's election.
The county will now have to pay for the runoff elections in June, on their own.
