New technology is always right around the corner, and one area that customers keep benefitting from this is with food and product deliveries.

Thanks to companies like Amazon and Uber, getting something delivered is a faster and easier process than ever before.

Now, a new company is looking to improve deliveries even more, bringing drone deliveries to DFW.

Walgreens recently announced they have teamed with Wing, a drone delivery company owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, to bring drone delivery to Frisco and Little Elm.

Customers will be able to order items from Walgreens and have them delivered to their door within minutes using the Wing drone.

The drone will even be able to deliver items like ice cream, as “the flight takes two to three minutes, the equivalent of walking to your car from the grocery store,” said Jacob Demmitt, Wing’s U.S. marketing manager.

According to Dallas Morning News, this is not the first drone delivery service to be tested in DFW. Last week, Flytrex began testing drone food delivery in Granbury, and DroneUp recently posted job openings in North Texas for drone pilots and a business development manager.

At this rate, DFW may soon have more drones in the sky than cars on the road.
