Walmart is expanding its drone delivery service in Texas, aiming to cover more customers across the Lone Star State.
In collaboration with Wing, a drone delivery company owned by Google, the services now reach about 75% of the DFW metroplex. The drones can deliver items within a six-mile radius of the participating Walmart stores.
The service is intended for smaller purchases, with a weight limit of ten pounds. Each delivery, charged at $3.99, can be conveniently ordered through the Wing app and has an average delivery time of 30 minutes or less.
With Walmart's extensive network of stores, they are well-positioned to scale this delivery option and compete with other delivery services such as Amazon.
