DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- A chase that started in Dallas and wound through Collin County this afternoon has ended.

A man stole a Dallas Fire-Rescue Ambulance from Fire Station No. 53, then led police on a chase along several freeways and through a residential neighborhood in Collin County.

Around 3pm in McKinney the ambulance got a flat tire after running over a "spike strip" that was deployed by police and crashed.

The suspect got out and ran, but was captured by police a few moments later along Joyce Lane in McKinney.

Officials said the Dallas-Fire Rescue ambulance was stolen earlier in the day.
