All Waxahachie students are now required to be in class. Any students who did not show up yesterday were marked absent unless they had a doctor's exemption.
Last month, the school board ruled that online classes could no longer be an option because too many of the on-line students were falling behind.
Superintendent Bonn Cain says technology can be a good supplement but cannot take the place of a teacher.
Most Waxahachie students have been on-campus anyway but this change affects the 17% who were learning online.
