
Buffalo-based start up 3AM Innovations, through Launch NY, has received $100,000 in funding. The Launch NY funding enabled it to take advantage of a Qualified Opportunity Fund, with Launch NY providing other funding. 3AM Innovations produces a wearable tracker for first responders in the field during crisis situations.
Kanaka Partners LLC, led by investor/developer Dr. Greg Daniels, has been designated as the developer for a long-vacant property at 204 High Street, according to Business First. The purchase price was $120,000 - with Kanaka anticipated to invest more than $1 million for renovations. The property will be transformed into an as yet undetermined number of apartments.
Univera Healthcare is providing a $115,000 grant to Neighborhood Health Center of WNY, Inc. to curb the prevalence of diabetes. The Univera grant will be dispersed over three years and will fund the creation of a Wellness Department at Neighborhood Health Center, which will focus on health outcomes and self-management education for diabetic patients, with a goal to reduce A1C levels. The funding also allows Neighborhood Health Center to provide diabetic eye exams at all of its sites.
