There will be plenty of security and extra counselors at Harwood Junior High in Bedford today as students and teachers are feeling anxious because of yesterday's reports of a student with a gun on campus.
School was out for the day but there were many people still on site for extra curriculars when the school went into lockdown around 4 p.m.
About an hour later, students were released in small groups.
A letter sent home to parents by principal Toby Givens says: "The Bedford Police have determined there is no safety threat at Harwood Junior High." The letter also says this all started when "Harwood Junior High Administration was notified by the Bedford Police Department that a student still on campus may be in possession of a weapon."
Police and administrators are remaining rather vague about whether there was ever a weapon on campus to begin with.
