WEATHERFORD (180 KRLD) - A historic building on the Downtown Weatherford Square now has a giant, gaping hole in it.
Police say a possible drunk driver crashed into a historic building early this morning, and it suffered substantial damage. In fact, Sgt. Jason Hayes with Weatherford Police says the car ended up partially inside the historic structure.
"It's tough," Hayes says. "It's not the first time it's happened and unfortunately, it probably won't be the last time it happens. But we're going to do our best to preserve as much as the building as possible and see what we can do to repair it."
Hayes says the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
