From Fort Worth to Arlington to Dallas, families are dealing with tragic losses. At least seven people were killed by gunfire in Dallas over the weekend -- five of them on Sunday alone.
A man died in a south Oak Cliff shooting Sunday -- but police can't yet say who did it. Or why. Terrance Wayne Reed was found badly wounded on South Denley Drive near Lancaster and Ledbetter. They tried to save him at the hospital but there was nothing they could do.
Two people were shot and killed in Pleasant Grove. They died last night, just before 9 p.m. when someone opened fire on a car on Jennie Lee Lane near Prairie Creek Road. The back window of the car was blasted out and crime scene investigators found numerous spent shell casings on the street near the car. Detectives have not said what led up to the shooting.
A man was shot in the neck in East Dallas overnight. He was shot just after midnight while sitting in his car on East Grand Avenue near Tenison Park Golf Course. His car was all shot up with nearly every window shattered. So, there were lots of shots fired but police are not saying how many. The victim was taken to the hospital but his condition has not been released.
Dallas police are hunting for the gunman who left a man to die in Oak Cliff over the weekend. Kenneth Hamilton was found shot in the driver's seat of a car near South Beckley and Clarendon, just blocks from the Dallas Zoo. He was still alive when police and paramedics arrived so they raced him to the hospital. But they could not save his life. There are some businesses near the crime scene so police are hoping to get some security video to help them find the killer.
A Fort Worth man is recovering after getting shot while sleeping in his own bed last night. A bit after 9 p.m. a bullet crashed into the victim's apartment on Gould Avenue near the Fort Worth Stockyards. He was hit in the leg and was treated at the hospital. Not knowing where the bullet came from, police cannot yet say if the victim was specifically targeted or was hit by a stray shot.
