Whataburger is kicking off a month-long 76th birthday celebration throughout August, offering Texas-sized discounts and 76-cent weekly specials for loyal customers through its digital rewards program.
The San Antonio-based fast-food giant launched the promotions to mark more than seven decades of operation since founder Harmon Dobson opened the first orange-and-white burger stand on Ayers Street in Corpus Christi on August 8, 1950. Today, the iconic chain operates more than 1,100 locations across 17 states.
To commemorate the milestone, Whataburger is rolling out "Whataburger Wednesdays" all month long, releasing a different 76-cent menu item every week exclusively through the Whataburger App for Rewards members.

The weekly schedule of 76-cent app-only offers includes:
- August 5: Taquito with Cheese from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- August 12: 16-ounce Whatafresher from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- August 19: Big Ranch Wrap from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- August 26: Signature Chicken Sandwich from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The headline event of the month-long birthday bash lands on Saturday, August 8—officially designated as National Whataburger Day. On that day, Whataburger Rewards members can redeem a Buy One, Get One Free (BOGO) Whataburger entrée deal between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time. Participating restaurants nationwide will also feature birthday decorations, balloons, and photo-op selfie stations.
In a company announcement, Whataburger President and CEO Debbie Stroud emphasized that the August promotions serve as a direct thank-you to the millions of customers who have supported the brand across generations.
Company officials noted that all promotional offers are limited to one redemption per account and must be claimed directly through the official mobile app. Customers who do not yet have an account can download the app on iOS or Android to access the deals throughout August.
