The wheelchair-bound woman struck and killed in Arlington Tuesday evening has now been identified.
Police were called out Tuesday about 6:30 p.m. to the scene near Green Oaks Boulevard and New York Avenue. They found a woman using a motorized wheelchair had been hit by an SUV.
A witness told investigators the SUV driver had the green light and was already moving through the intersection when the Arlington woman now identified as Patricia Owens wheeled out into the street.
She was rushed to Medical City Arlington where she died about 90 minutes later.
The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene to help and to answer police questions. They say she will not face charges.
