WHITE SETTLEMENT (1080 KRLD)- Police need help in finding a man who rammed White Settlement patrol cars in a stolen vehicle.

On Sunday, the White Settlement Police Department was notified by the Fort Worth Police Department of a stolen car traveling northbound on S. Las Vegas Trail from Calmont Avenue. The man driving had pulled into a restaurant off West Freeway. Officers arrived on the scene to find the vehicle unoccupied while the suspect tried to flee on foot. Officers began to drive in his direction while a female passenger fled on foot towards a motel along the I-30 service road.

The suspect ran back to the stolen car, a black Jeep Liberty SUV and rammed the officer’s police-marked Tahoe that was blocking the stolen vehicle. The officer was not injured. A vehicle chase was initiated westbound on I-30 during which the suspect drove recklessly at excessive speeds. The WSPD supervisor terminated the chase due to the reckless driving behaviors. The suspect is still on the run.

Meanwhile, the female passenger was taken into custody at a local motel in the 7900 block of I-30 service road. She has been identified as 33-year-old Kayla Martinez, and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was carrying meth on her.
