A man is locked up in the Tarrant County jail accused of being part of a team of burglars who targeted vehicles along a street in White Settlement in April.
Early on the morning of April 30th a man was grazed by a gunshot fired by one of the gang who tried the door of the victim's car sitting in a driveway. It was dark and police believe the gunman did not know anyone was inside the car.
When confronted, the gunman ran for it but fired two shots as he fled. One of them ricocheted off the victim's car and grazed him in the leg.
Using surveillance footage from several homes in the neighborhood, White Settlement police narrowed their search for the shooter to a man named Quanterrious Lee Quantreel Royal who has now been jailed on a long list of charges including several counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence and deadly contact by discharging a firearm.
Police say Royal is the only one of the four car burglary suspects they've identified -- but they are still looking hard for the other three.
