Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley appears to be ready to pull out all the stops in convincing people to get their COVID-19 vaccines.

During Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting, Judge Whitley said he would like to explore the possibility of implementing an incentive program to get people to get vaccinated.

"The governor will not allow us to do anything with masks, (and) he will not allow us to do anything with vaccinations," Whitley pointed out. "So let's see if maybe we can incentivize."

Whitley noted that there's an incentive program in Harris County.

"Harris County is saying that it's been very successful there," Whitley says, "and they keep adding to the amount."

Details of any potential incentive program in Tarrant County, including the amount or even the type of incentive, have yet to be worked out.
