After threatening a federal judge a Wise County man gets 10 more years added to his prison sentence.
In 2007 Kevin Riedle of Runaway Bay was caught with child porn on his computer. He pleaded guilty to one count of an indictment charging transporting and shipping child pornography, and at his sentencing hearing his former stepdaughter detailed years of sexual abuse she suffered from him.
In legal filings, Riedle said he thought he would be sentenced to 10-years in federal prison, but instead he got a 20 year sentence without parole.
A year ago in 2022, Riedle had enough of his confinement. He began writing letters to Federal Judge Terry R. Means and to the prosecutor who handled the case. In those letters Riedle allegedly made violent threats to the judge and prosecutor's family members.
Because of his threats another federal judge sentenced Riedle to another 10-years in prison. At the time he wrote those letters, Riedle was just seven months from getting out of prison, meaning he would have been released three months ago in March.
