
Students, teachers and staff will be wearing pink in the Paradise school district Monday in memory of 7-year-old Athena Strand, the missing first grader whose body was found Friday.
The Wise County community is heart broken and many people came together Sunday to share their grief at First Baptist Cottondale where volunteers were organized to look for Athena after she vanished last Wendesday night.
Wise County Judge J.D. Clark has invited the community to gather at the Wise County courthouse Monday at 6:30 p.m. to pray for Athena and her family.
Also, a candlelight vigil has been set for 6:00 p.m Tuesday at First Baptist Cottondale.
The kidnapper, 31-year-old Tanner Horner, of Lake Worth, who confessed to the abduction and killing, is being held at the Wise County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
