Azle (1080 KRLD)- The Tarrant County Sheriff's office says a combination of drinking and driving was a fatal mix north of Azle.
The accident happened at about 9:20 on a straight stretch of FM 730 north of Azle near Reed Road. Tarrant County Sheriff's lieutenant Jennifer Gabbert says a car driven by a 68-year old man in a Toyota car was going south. A pickup truck driven by Brandi Kay Love, 33 was going north.
"The pickup truck had driven into oncoming traffic and it struck the Toyota, head-on," said Lt. Jennifer Gabbert of the Tarrant County Sheriff's office. Both of them were extricated from their vehicles by emergency personnel."
The driver of the Toyota was taken to Harris Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Love was treated and released from John Peter Smith Hospital. She was arrested for intoxication manslaughter as soon as she was released.
The area of two lane highway is straight with a small rise near Reed Road.
