The woman charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of a Fort Worth police sergeant is back in custody.
DeAujalae Evans, who was on probation at the time of the incident, reportedly drove the wrong way through an accident scene and fatally struck Fort Worth police Sgt. Billy Randolph. Police said they believed Evans was intoxicated and returning home from a house party.
Court records reveal that Evans had pleaded guilty to family violence last year, which led to her probation sentence instead of incarceration. She now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter, which includes causing the death of a peace officer or firefighter.
Authorities are awaiting the results of Evans' toxicology report to determine whether any substances were present in her system during the incident.
