
One woman and her dog died in a house fire in southeast Dallas early Wednesday morning, officials say.
The incident was called in at 1:28 a.m. in the 2700 block of Burger Avenue, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Officials said when crews arrived, they initiated an a "fire attack" and declared the blaze extinguished at 1:53 a.m.
After the fire was out, firefighters discovered the woman's body, along with a dog, inside the house. One firefighter was also taken to the hospital "to be evaluated for medical reasons," officials said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
