A woman is okay after driving her GMC Sierra pick-up into a retention pond between Mansfield and Rendon on Tuesday.
The driver tells Tarrant County deputies she thought the truck was in drive, but when she stepped on the accelerator she realized too late it was actually in reverse.
The truck sped down a hill into the pond between Nocona Drive and Red Leaf Court. As the Sierra quickly sank, the woman scrambled out the sunroof and swam to the surface.
The first deputies on the scene grabbed a nearby boat and went out to fish her out of the water.
Fort Worth Fire Department divers went down to attach a tow line to the truck which was then hoisted out by a wrecker driver.
